Well Celiacs now have a sweet haven to pay homage to. A bakery that is dedicated to celiacs is not an easy task. Whether you have a gluten intolerance or just want to try something new, Tu-Lu's is the place to go. They have a large variety of sweets, from cupcakes (mini too), to cookies, to brownies. If you are having a party, they can make a gluten free cake. At Tu-Lu's there is a Gluten Free and Vegan Brownie. It is beyond me how something without flour and eggs can still taste like ummm, a brownie. The mini cupcakes are the way to go, sample 3 for $3.50. Their peanut butter has a very natural taste, while the cherry is light and airy. How do you do that without white flour?http://bit.ly/tulus

This place is a little hidden gem. Those that live in the East Village know about Something Sweet and those that don't should. There is something for everyone, from cookies to tarts to cake to an incredible chocolate covered banana. I do believe this is a signature sweet. They take fresh bananas and slice them in half (the long way). The banana is placed over a graham cookie and then topped with delicious chocolate. Interesting that it is not overly sweet and dare I say it... you could get ... Continue reading...

On one of the few dead end streets in Manhattan lives a delicious little chocolate shop. It's so delicious in fact if you lived across the street you'd purchase one piece of chocolate a day. The way it's displayed almost wants you or asks you to buy a piece. People rave about the Pretzel-Covered Sea Salted Caramels and it has won awards. You might read that it's heavenly, but you must, you must, put the entire thing in your mouth. If you don't consume it in one bite, you could have caramel sh... Continue reading...

If you were to walk quickly down St. Marks Place you could miss one of the greatest things to happen with desserts in NYC. The Spot Dessert Bar is a perfect place to visit with a small group or even come on a first date. It's a bonus when there is friendly service and a plethora of goodies to sample. They offer their desserts like Tapas, why get one, when you can enjoy three, five or heck all of them. They are perfectly portioned to share. However sharing one with two people could result in a... It is interesting that Pumpkin Pie has had a place on most tables during the holiday season, while Sweet Potato Pie has been the "red headed step-child" of the pie world. Allow Peels NYC to introduce your palette to something new this year. If you have never had a Sweet Potato Pie, don't you think it is about time you do. Their Sweet Potato Pie has a wonderful little spiced bite, maybe it's the Nutmeg or maybe it's the love that goes into baking one. This kind of pie is slightly more dense co... Continue reading...

Seriously, what can be said about Veniero's that hasn't already been said? It is one of the most well-know Italian pastry shops in the city and perhaps the country. If you are in Manhattan and get to the East Village you should stop by.http://bit.ly/bpdOF8 Continue reading...

There are multiple locations around the city. Which ever location you are at you must, must, must try the Kadaif. The base of Kadaif is similar to shredded wheat, which is topped with warm honey and then a sweet ricotta cheese. How many satisfying light and sweet desserts do you know?http://bit.ly/a86fB4 Continue reading...

Brownies these days are usually very sweet and it is often difficult to distinguish between the chocolate and the sugar. The chocolate brownies at Black Hound are very fudgy and need to be eaten cold. Why you ask? Well if you let them get to room temperature they become the consistency of brownie batter. Brownie batter is not a bad thing at all, but this is just something you should know. Not up for a brownie, try their truffles and mini cakes. It is a great addition to this area.http://bit.... If you are looking for a unique dessert experience, then you have come to the right place. A word of advice, walk slowly or you might miss their nondescript location. It has a cozy atmosphere and is best suited for parties of two. There is just something incredible and personable about being served a dessert from the pastry chef herself. Make sure you sit at the bar, you can watch these pastry masters perform works of art before your very eyes. Ah yes, cheesecakes lovers take note. The cheese... Continue reading...
