Okay here is the thing, if you like chocolate chip cookies with big chunks of chocolate and pieces of walnuts then you will like Koffeecake Corner. If you prefer them warm, then you will love this cookie. WOW! These cookies are actually housed in a warming drawer, a glass top - see through warming drawer. It gives me goose-bumps thinking about the chocolate, butter and nuts touching my palate. SO GOOD! http://bit.ly/HsxWIA

Semifreddo in Italian means half cold and in English it means Mmmm Mmmm Good. When it is topped with hot fudge you have what I'd consider a bit of sex on a plate. I apologize, if you have Pistachio Semifreddo topped with hot fudge while it sits on a creme fraiche brownie, then you have sex on a plate. There are pistachio's in every bite, if you love pistachio's like I do then you'll be a happy person. The semifreddo appears in front of your eyes naked, but patience will tell you that a wondro... There are seriously only three reasons to come to the Park NYC. 1. To Drink 2. Atmosphere 3. Banana Wontons Have you ever heard of Banana Wantons? I hadn't until coming here. They are wantons, stuffed with banana's and served with a carmel and chocolate dipping sauce. Then dusted with powdered sugar because everything is better with a little powdered sugar. It's a nice little spin on a banana dessert. Have a cocktail, take in the scenery and eat the wontons.http://bit.ly/theparknyc Continue reading...

It might not be everyday you go to a diner and I am sure it is even more rare for you to eat their desserts. At Chelsea Square Restaurant they have a Seven Layer Chocolate Mousse Cake. Sure you may have seen this tower of a cake at other diners, but seriously folks if it is served cold it is quite good. It is seven light layers of creamy chocolate mousse, looks whipped really. The chocolate is layered between seven very thin layers of moist vanilla cake. Covering this tower is a generous lay... Continue reading...

Now here is a place, a great little place that will make you feel as if you left Manhattan once you step inside. Tipsy Parson is southern inspired without the fatback. I will let you judge if you think the $18 Cobbler/Crumble/Crisp is worth the price (it's a 3 person dessert). The dessert changes with each season. As I write this post it is Strawberry Rhubarb season. There is plenty of fresh hearty chunks of strawberries and the same for Rhubarb. On a personal note, I prefer my Rhubard to b... Many of you have passed by and many of you have been inside, but have you ever had their desserts? Rocking Horse Cafe has a nice little spiced chocolate dessert on their menu, called Tortita de Chocolate. The menu reads a "spiced Valrhona chocolate cake with cinnamon ice cream. It is more commonly known as a Molten Lava Cake, but it's so much better!!!. The cake is deliciously moist, not too dry. The chocolate is perfectly spiced and flows from the cake in the perfect amount. The most intere... Continue reading...

For those of you who love the Doughnut Plant, but loathe the trek to the LES location, than here is the location for you. While the doughnut flavors are the same as the Grand Street location, somehow they taste... different. It's like having a crepe in Chicago and not Paris. Call me crazy I know, but I'll still eat them at either location.http://bit.ly/hcDi5q Continue reading...

There are two locations in the city, but this one is much bigger. :D The desserts change often, from Pumpkin Pie to Berry Cobbler to Pecan Pie. All are homemade and all pieces are generally HUGE. Like (to quote most youth today), the pieces are like HUGE. When you order one of their homemade desserts you many wonder who else is coming to eat this, why? Like they are large pieces. If you are too full from your sandwich or salad ;) you can always bring one home.http://bit.ly/fe4TOu ... Continue reading...

Oh Lulu Cake Boutique. This is going to be a love hate relationship for many of you not living in Chelsea and also for those who do live in Chelsea. First, you must know about their cakes and assorted delights. 1. Homemade Twinkie, that's right a homemade twinkie and a red velvet one 2. A homemade snowball, hmmm hmmmm 3. Five kinds of brownies; you are killing me here 4. They have edible fondant, yes it is true people The reason you will love LuLu is because of what they sell and if you live in ... Three Tarts NYC is a great place if you are walking around and want something sweet and not overly large. There is a nice sample of mini tarts to choose from; one bite tarts okay maybe two. This is the type of place where you can pick up a few things and bring them to an office party. An assortment of goodies that would compliment any table, desk or kitchen counter.http://bit.ly/bNHRje Continue reading...

Inside Chelsea Market lives a wee little shop that serves popsicles. You may be thinking "big deal, it's a popsicle" and while this may be true, it is so much more; they should be called Fruit Pops. Most popsicles are flavored ice, which really is nothing more than sugar water. People's Pops pops actually have fruit inside, you can see it and you can taste it. They could be the most refreshing popsicles you've ever tasted. If you do not want to walk through the market, there's an entrance on ... Continue reading...

Cupcakes are all the rage these days. Red Velvet cupcakes are probably the most desirable cupcake flavor today. While it is true many shops have dry cupcakes and the frosting tastes nothing like cream cheese, everyone has their favorite place. Big Booty Bread Co has one of the most moist cakes around and their frosting is creamy, you know how a cream cheese frosting should taste. Rumor has it their recipe hails from the south. If cupcakes aren't your thing, they make some great big cookies a... Continue reading...

UPDATE: Zack's doughnuts are still awesome, but his frozen smore steals the show this summer! It is part of a special tasting menu: Key Lime in A Glass, Frozen Smore and a Mini Fried Whoopie Pie. The smore has homemade mashmallow, which is toasted and served with chocolate icecream on top of his version of a graham cracker. Only this cracker is not a cracker, yet a thin cake. He always has an interesting twist on nostalgic favorites. If you are not a fan of shell fish, you still should sto... Continue reading...

Seriously there are too many things to name here that people love. The carrot cake cupcake is divine, while others think their vanilla cupcake is the best and still some think they have the best coconut creme cake. You decide. Which ever you order, it will be like dinner and a show because you can watch them frost the cupcakes from the large window while you stand outside.http://bit.ly/cVfy3b Continue reading...

If you haven't been, do not turn away from the name. They have some of the finest walking sweets on the west side. Which means, you can take something to go and eat it right out of the bag. People will see the bag and know you have good taste, without knowing what is in the bag. Too many places that have Blondies, don't make them correctly... Amy's bread sure does. They have brownies, cookies, cupcakes and slices of cake. There is a Monkey Cake aka Hummingbird Cake with banana, pineapple, pe... Continue reading...

Yup they're Macarons, they're French and authentic. How do I know? Ask my friend who proceeded to eat 6 in a row and all he could do was say yup after each bite. He is from Paris. They have one of the largest selections of macaroons in NYC. The macarons have the proper ratio of crunch to chew. http://bit.ly/9VdS9X Continue reading...

Why would you buy donuts from a chain, when you can buy local and buy fresh? This place has existed for over 40 years. They continue to amaze us with their Old Fashion Donuts and their crullers. If the donuts aren't enough, maybe the swivel stools can entice you.http://bit.ly/9IoWX4 Continue reading...

UPDATE: The COOKSHOP has one of the most interesting desserts around. The menu reads Banana Pudding: Carmelized bananas, peanut butter cookies. They failed to mention it will be served in your own little mason jar. It is so cute, yes it is and it makes you want to inhale the entire thing.. or is that just me? Seriously folks, the banana pudding appears to be layered with nilla wafers inside the mason jar. It is delicious, it is firm and it is refreshing. Do not try to share this one. Old pos... Parlez-vous Francais? La Bergamote is French for oh wow this pastry shop is awesome; seriously it is true. It is a patisserie at its finest, sinfully delicious. They may have the tastest Almond Croissant on this island and their Plain Croissant is tops oh and their Chocolate Croissant or Pain au chocolat! A great thing about La Bergamote is that they have desserts you can bring to a dinner party! Such as decadent fruit tarts or beautiful cakes and some with chocolate ganache. Lastly, this ca...
